Bournemouth YMCA run a variety of projects for Young People. They are:
The Chatterboxes is a youth action project run by disabled young people from Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset aged 11-25 years old, whose aim is to enable young disabled people to have their voice heard, feel safe and engaged in their community and raise awareness of disabilities with the aspiration of having a community which is equal to all.
Fusion is a town centre coffee bar open to teenagers. We offer a wide range of food and drinks in a pleasant environment which includes pool and video games. We have qualified Youth Workers on hand to aid personal development, and volunteering opportunities for young people wanting to play a bigger part or seeking accreditation. Our music basement is open to young people and is equipped for individual and group practice, recordings, performances and media production. Or just plug in your mp3 player, turn up the microphone and chill with your friends.
The Youth Forum is a steering group made up of young people aged 15-25 representing all YMCA Bournemouth youth projects. The aim of the group is to promote youth action and ensure that our youth offer is relevant to the needs of young people in Poole, Bournemouth and Dorset.
