Bournemouth Town Hall Parliament Week Debate for Young People

Bournemouth Town Hall Parliament Week

Debate for Young People

Young people from Bournemouth will again have the opportunity to take over the council chamber on 17th November 2017. This annual event is back but, this year there is a twist. During September, young people have been voting for issues they believe to be the most important to them and their peers. From a list of 10 issues drawn up by UK Youth Parliament, Young people were asked to select the one issue that they felt had the greatest impact on them or what they have seen happening to other young people. Over 1300 Young people took part, which represents almost 10% of those eligible to take part. The two issues that will be debated at Bournemouth Town Hall on 17th November are:-

  • A curriculum to Prepare us for life
  • Protect LGBTQ+ People

The event is held during school hours so will need to have an authorised absence to attend or even better get a teacher to bring a group along! Tickets can be booked on our Eventbrite page here https://bmth-debate.eventbrite.co.uk

Full details will be sent to participant at least one week prior to the event.
